If XNB files are included and you want to install those too then they need to be placed in the vanilla Portrait folder of SDV found in StardewValley -> Content -> Portraits. So it should be Stardew Valley -> Mods -> Portraiture -> Portraits -> 1 Shane (you may save as any number + name of character) -> Shane.png.
